As the Head Coach or Wilfred Laurier University's Swim Team, Dean Boles was inducted into the WLU Hall of Fame as a Builder.

In the builders category, Dean Boles will be recognized for serving as the head coach of the Laurier's swim team for 22 years.  He is a three-time OUA Coach of the year and he was also honoured with the Tuffy Knight Award in 2009-10, and the 3M COach of the Year in 2000.

Although he coached Canadian athletes to four different Olympic Games from 1996 to 2008, one of Boles' biggest contributions was raising funds necessary to fix the pool at Laurier.

Boles created a partnership with the Region of Waterloo Swim Club, as well as the municipal, provincial and federal governments to help save the pool.
